Eagle-eyed members of the public caught a fly-tipper red-handed - and blocked him in until police arrived.

They clocked the rubbish dumper in Nether Whitacre in North Warwickshire.

He was in a white van and the public-spirited residents blocked him in until police arrived.

Atherstone and Coleshill police reported that it proved to be a bad night for the fly-tipper - who was made to put all of the rubbish back in his van.

"Thanks to some eagle-eyed members of the public this male was caught red handed fly-tipping in Nether Whitacre," said a post on the Atherstone and Coleshill police page on Facebook.
