Crime Ref:

Force:

Cheshire Constabulary

A recent flurry of cattle thefts has been reported in Cheshire.

The first report was in the Knutsford area with 7 being stolen and the second in the Northwich area with 6 being stolen.

Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team suspect this to be someone who knows what they are doing and the cattle were taken straight to a slaughter house.

Members of the public are being urged to be vigilant and to report any cattle movement that they believe to be suspicious. Farmers are being urged to lock up their gates, turn a hinge upside down so the gates cant be lifted and keep a regular eye on their stock numbers
