Devon & Cornwall Police

The past week has seen the theft of four Global Positioning Systems (GPS) from tractors in Devon.

The first theft took place during the night in the Exmouth area. A 'Star Fire' dome was stolen from the top of a tractor sometime during the night of September 13/14.

Three similar systems were stolen from tractors in Torridge during the night of September 15/16.

PC Whitting from Devon and Cornwall POlie said: "Although these type of thefts are rare we encourage those using GPS systems to pin enable them (where possible), mark them with postcodes/etching/DNA, and most importantly, remove them from vehicles when not in use. Finally, always store them securely when not in use.
