A39 West Quantoxhead closed as tractor falls off trailer

A tractor has fallen off a trailer on a major road in the Quantock Hills.

The A39 was closed in both directions this afternoon (Wednesday, May 11) at West Quantoxhead due to the incident.

Police reported the closure on social media at 2.40pm, explaining that although recovery work was underway, the road would be closed "for some time".

They advised motorists to find alternative routes.

Travel Somerset reported that the incident happened between The Avenue (West Quantoxhead) and Frog Street (East Quantoxhead).
