On Wednesday, September 28, officers from the Humberside Police Rural Task Force executed a warrant at a farm in Haisthorpe, alongside the neighbourhood policing team and Operation Galaxy following a reported theft.

PC Josh Fawcett of our Rural Task Force leads the operation. He said: “Agricultural and plant vehicles are particularly vulnerable to theft, with assets sometimes stolen to order.

This incident is just one of many fires that have broken out in East Yorkshire over recent weeks, as temperatures have soared to record highs. The local fire service have raised awareness of the issue and said this incident shows "the devastation caused to farmers' livelihoods when fire spreads so quickly in some of the driest conditions on record".
