‘Unthinkable’ crime as pregnant mare ‘beaten’ left to suffer and die with broken hind leg
Lauren Sapsted’s mare Alice was found dead by Lauren’s seven-year-old daughter Bella on Monday morning (16 May). She had been due to give birth in three weeks, and had gone into labour in her panic but the foal did not survive. Her hind leg was broken.

Eastbourne town centre trees cut down due to ‘devastating’ disease
A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “We received a report from a resident who was concerned that workmen had felled two trees which contained active bird nests in Terminus Road.
