Arson at public toilets in Haverigg

We received a report on Wednesday 6 April of a fire in the public toilets in Haverigg.

It is reported that young people had set fire to the toilet rolls which caused minor damage.

Thankfully staff from the café were on hand to put out the fire before the incident became more severe.

Enquiries have led to two children being identified and spoken to, one of who has admitted starting the fire.

They will be dealt with appropriately by our child centred policing team, and will potentially receive fire safety training.
