Bullet found embedded in a car on Cinderford street raises fears boar poachers are coming into towns

incident 150 of 18 February
Gloucestershire Constabulary
A bullet fired through a car window on a residential street has raised fears that poachers are stalking wild boar from the Forest of Dean into built-up areas at night. The car owner found the bullet embedded in the internal bodywork after a neighbour told her the car window was smashed.
She went to investigate the broken glass, found the bullet and called police. But the discovery has shocked the residents of St White’s Road, Cinderford, where police have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
A person who says they are a relative of the victim claimed police told the family it was possibly a stray bullet from poachers. It’s well-known that poachers come from a wide area to hunt boar and deer in the Forest with high-velocity rifles.
