A driver had to be cut out of a campervan after crashing into a tractor in Devon yesterday (Tuesday, May 31).
The ambulance service called fire control at just before 1pm for support at the scene of the accident on the A3052 at Southleigh, between Sidmouth and Seaton.
The driver of the campervan was trapped in the vehicle after the van had hit the back of the tractor.
Fire crews from Axminster, Seaton, Sidmouth and the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor were mobilised.
On arrival, fire control said they "confirmed one driver trapped in van which had gone into the rear of a tractor."
The police, the air ambulance and a land ambulance were already at the scene.
Firefighters stabilised both vehicles then made a plan with their ambulance and HEMS colleagues to free the driver.
They managed to successfully free the trapped driver by cutting the door away using hydraulic cutting and e-draulic cutting equipment.
The driver was taken to hospital by the land ambulance, for reportedly minor injuries, and the scene was left with the police.
