Combine harvester fires in Drewsteignton and Binegar

Two combine fires happening at the same time needed 18 fire crews on Saturday (August 13).

Breaking out at opposite ends of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service's patch, it was a busy afternoon.

Reports of a combine harvester on fire in a field in Binegar near Emborough, Wells came in at 1.37pm.

Fire crews from 12 stations across Somerset were mobilised as it was a significantly large fire in a field of crops.

Using farm machinery, foam jets and hose reel jets, the crews brought the fire under control by 6pm.
