Crime Ref:

Force:

Wales - North Wales Police

Two men have admitted animal welfare offences at a Welsh farm. One of the men, the experienced huntsman David William Lloyd Thomas, was caught kicking a dog and mistreating ferrets.

Thomas, 56, and Carywn Lloyd Fazakerley, 18, have pleaded guilty to not giving 29 dogs a suitable environment at Cwm Bowydd Farm in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd. And Thomas has admitted he failed to provide two ferrets with fresh clean drinking water at all times, as well as causing unnecessary suffering to a dog by rough handling and kicking.

Convicted badger-baiter Thomas also pleaded guilty to three breaches of his eight-year ban from keeping dogs. The ban had been imposed in 2018 when Thomas was jailed for 22 weeks after causing a badger to suffer, keeping premises for an animal fight, and causing the suffering of two confined foxes.
