Cow rescued from River Stour in Fiddleford Mill
Date of alert:
Wednesday, 3 August 2022
Crime Ref:
Force:
Dorset Police
With the heavy and hot weather we're having, it is little surprise that Megan the cow decided to cool off in a river.
Sadly, once in, she couldn't get out.
Animal rescue specialists and firefighters from Sturminster Newton, Poole and Blandford were called to Fiddleford Mill near Sturminster Newton yesterday morning (Tuesday, August 2) at 8.45am.
It appears that Megan had got into the river from her farm, perhaps finding out then that she couldn't get out, she wallowed upriver to the weir.
