Derbyshire police searching for pair who tried to coax swans into sacks with bread

Two men who were trying to coax swans into a sack are being sought by Derbyshire police. The pair, who were on the Cromford Canal towpath, were reportedly seen trying to lure swans to the canal side with bread.

Seen around 7.45am on Tuesday November 8, the two individuals had hessian sacks with them. A witness was concerned the duo were trying to catch and take the swans.

When challenged by the witness the pair fled towards Whatstandwell. The Derbyshire Rural Crime team are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
