Durham man in court for 'nuisance' tractor load

A MAN was fined after failing to secure hay bales properly when moving them with a tractor.
Charles Stevenson, of Hett Mill, near Durham, was sentenced at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 3.
The 34-year-old was accused of carrying a farm equipment and straw bales on his Massey Ferguson tractor in a way that was likely to be dangerous or a nuisance.

It relates to an incident on September 30 last year, when he was travelling on the A688 near Spennymoor.
He also faced a charge of driving a Massey Ferguson and trailer without the correct registration mark.
Both offences were proved using the single justice procedure during the hearing on Tuesday.
