Firefighters tackled two farm-related incidents on the same night involving a farm shed and 50 bales of hay in Berwickshire and Northumberland.

Berwick Community Fire Station said they were first called to a farm shed fire in Eyemouth at 7.59pm on Saturday (August 19) which was 'well alight'.

Meanwhile, around 10.35pm on Saturday night, as Berwick's Blue Watch helped firefighters north of the border, the town's retained crew were called out to a blaze in the Shoreswood area of Northumberland, where around 50 hay bales were found alight.

They were supported by a team from Seahouses fire station, and the bales were left to burn out under the supervision of the land owner, with the crew returning to their station around 1am.
