Grass fire breaks out on Powys common land

A grass fire has broken out on land near Rhayader with emergency services attending from mid and north Powys.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue have been trying to keep the fire under control on Cwmdauddwr Common this afternoon (Wednesday, March 23).

Crews, including firefighters from Newtown and Llanidloes, have been dealing with the incident on the mountain road from Rhayader for at least two-and-a-half hours.
