High Bickington farm fire

Thirteeen fire crews from across the county had to battle a fire that broke out in North Devon yesterday (Tuesday).

The fire broke out in a workshop on a farm in High Bickington at around 1.30pm.

To complicate matters, the workshop was full of diesel and oil.

Firefighters used water jets to prevent the fire from escalating further.

The plume of black smoke was so thick that nearby residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
