Hunters and urban explorers stopped by police in north Warrington

THREE hunters armed with air rifles and a group of urban explorers were stopped by police in north Warrington.

It was one of a number of incidents dealt with by Cheshire Police’s Rural Crime Team, which detailed its officers’ activities on Saturday evening.

The stops came as part of Operation Galileo – the force’s crackdown on wildlife crime – in this part of the county.

Cheshire officers worked in tandem with colleagues from Merseyside Police to patrol around north Warrington and St Helens areas, including Burtonwood, Winwick, Croft and Culcheth.
