THE FIRE service has released new images of the damage caused to a remote part of Delamere Forest, following a fire on Tuesday (July 19).
Eight fire engines were originally deployed to the popular beauty spot at Ashton Road after receiving reports from a forest ranger at around 5.40pm.
Fire crews spent almost 24 hours at the scene before declaring it “fully damped down” as they prepared to hand back its care to forest rangers.
The latest images released by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service show the trunks of many trees left charred by the flames.
