Lincolnshire farmer 'devastated' as calves stolen from farm

A North Lincolnshire farmer has been left 'devastated' after thieves made off with four prized Aberdeen Angus calves, only two months after being the victim of a violent burglary.

Peter Kelsey of H. Kelsey and Sons farm in Beltoft woke to find that four of his cattle had been taken during the night. Alongside the upset, this has also caused a huge financial loss to the farm and seen a waste of the owners time and effort in raising them.

The cattle are classed as yearlings and are believed to weigh approximately 400kg. Humberside Police are now appealing for anyone with CCTV footage or information about the theft to come forward to help with their investigation.

The force has also reassured local cattle farmers that there is nothing to worry about, but to take precautionary measures for extra security. Speaking about the incident, Peter said: "I’m devastated at the loss of our Angus calves.

"We put a lot of time and effort into raising them, never mind the financial loss which was is also great. We were victim of a violent burglary in June and this is yet another blow to our livelihood.”
