Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for an animal cruelty offence in Chieveley, Berkshire.
John Greedy, aged 20, of Broad Street Common, Peterstone Wentlooge, Cardiff, was fined £360, told to pay £775 in costs, and given a deprivation of ownership of animal order at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (14/2).
Magistrates found Greedy guilty of one count of duty of a person responsible for an animal to ensure welfare.
Following a report of badger-baiting, officers from the Hungerford and Downlands neighbourhood team attended an address in North Heath, Chieveley, on 26 March last year.
