Nottinghamshire Police

An ongoing police operation cracking down on rural crime and cross-border criminals has had even more success after a busy night of activity resulted in arrests and seizures.

Three suspects were arrested overnight after superb teamwork involving response officers, the Bassetlaw Operation Reacher team, and Nottinghamshire Police’s roads policing unit and road crime team.

Officers arrested two men and recovered a large haul of vapes after spotting, following, and stopping a suspected cloned van on the A1 southbound, near Colsterworth, on Tuesday night (16 January 2024). It was suspected the vehicle was being used to commit cross-border crime.

Checks on the van confirmed it had been stolen from an address in Ripon, North Yorkshire, on 21 November 2023.
