North Shields 'nuisance' quad bike seized by police after complaints

Police received several reports from concerned residents regarding the bikes loud noise levels and anti-social behaviour in the Meadow Well area of North Shields.

Locals also reported significant damage to communal areas including torn-up grass, destroyed benches and street fixtures.

Using public intelligence, Northumbria Police then tracked down and seized the vehicle as the rider made off on foot before the force arrived.

Colin Lowther, Neighbourhood Chief Inspector for the area, thanked locals who put their trust in the police and led the vehicle to be safely taken off the streets for good.
