The Rural Crime Prevention and Support Hub, which went live this week, will offer information on all rural crime issues, including those relating to wildlife and heritage crime. It will also direct users to specialised support services in the event they become a victim of crime.

The hub has been funded by Derbyshire police and crime commissioner Angelique Foster, who said it provides a ‘one stop shop’ for farmers, residents, businesses and retailers to provide up-to-date advice and information on how to prevent and report rural crime. It will also highlight the work being carried by the rural crime team and partners.

Ms Foster said rural crime was a key priority in her Police and Crime Plan and she has already created the Derbyshire Partnership Against Rural Crime. Launched in September 2023, members include Derbyshire Constabulary, Derbyshire County Council, Rural Action Derbyshire, National Trust, Historic England, British Horse Society, Natural England, the National Farmers’ Union and other local and national charities.
