Police investigate graffiti vandalism at historic Chester bridge

POLICE are investigating after graffiti was sprayed at the bottom of a historic bridge in Chester.

The incident was reported on Wednesday, May 4 and the Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team said it was heritage crime to the Grade I-listed Grosvenor Bridge.

A spokesperson for the crime team said: "The bridge has had graffiti spayed along the base which has caused significant damage. This will result in expensive removal costs due to the type and age of sandstone used."

It is the second time damage has been caused to the bridge in six weeks.
