POLICE have issued a warning to caravan owners in Warrington to ensure they are afforded the maximum security available.

It comes as officers highlight a rise in the theft of caravans in the town, with two stolen within two days recently.

The thefts of two mobile homes were reported in Warrington to police on March 8 and 9.

Thankfully one was recovered, albeit with some damage to it, while the other – a Hobby 654VIP with distinctive blacked-out windows to the front and sides – remains missing.

According to Cheshire Police’s Road and Crime Unit, officers stopped and seized one of the vehicles involved in the theft and enquiries are continuing into tracing those responsible.
