A herd of cows is not the easiest thing to run off with in the middle of the night....

A large number of cows have been mysteriously stolen from a field in Carmarthenshire, leaving police with no leads as to where they ended up or how they were taken. A total of 26 Fresian cows were taken from a field in the Golden Grove area - between Llanarthne and Llandeilo east of Carmarthen.

Police say a lorry would have been needed to transport the cows from the field, but as there were no reported witnesses they cannot be sure what kind, make or model was used to steal the herd and then make a getaway from the area. An appeal was made for anyone with information to come forward, but police have admitted that “all lines of enquiry have been completed”. However, anyone with any information which could help can still report it to Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101, quoting reference number DPP/3649/24/04/2023/02/C, with the hope that the mysterious theft - which happened at some point over the weekend of April 21 to April 23 - can still be solved.
