Stables on fire on Common Moor Drove in Glastonbury

Police are investigating after a large wooden stable block in Glastonbury caught fire at 3 o'clock this morning (Wednesday).

Police discovered the stables on fire on Common Moor Drove at 3.07am.

Fortunately, no horses were involved in the fire.

They notified the fire service, who mobilised two fire engines from Glastonbury and Street, together with a water carrier from Bridgwater and incident support unit from Martock.

On arrival they found the stable block well alight. They acted fast to get the fire under control using main jets and compressed air foam.
