Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog attacks sheep at Peak District beauty spot

A sheep has been reportedly chased by a dog before being dragged into a river by her neck. The dog, reported to be a Staffordshire bull terrier-type or similar reportedly dragged the mother sheep into a river near Langsett Reservoir in the north of the Peak District.
Rural crime officers from South Yorkshire police are asking communities to come forward and help us take action against irresponsible dog owners who are posing a risk to local livestock. On Monday, May 1, officers were called to reports of a dog causing distress to sheep at Langsett Reservoir.
The mother sheep survived the incident and has been reunited with her lamb. This was the second incident in two days for sheep being attacked by dogs near Langsett Reservoir.
