Wiltshire Police

A white van was reported to police after it was seen being driven in a suspicious manner near a farm in the Devizes area, officers said last night (Friday, August 12).

Wiltshire Specialist Operations team said that its roads policing unit assisted Devizes police officers in following up the alert and found the van still at the scene. However, when questioned, the occupants claimed that the van had recently broken down, but no further explanation was offered.

Police then ran some checks on the vehicle and discovered that the driver appeared to have no insurance to drive it, nor a driver's licence. Further inquiries were expected to follow, with the possibility of charges and the vehicle being seized.
