UPDATE: Thames Valley Police has said it received reports of a window being smashed at Donnington Castle earlier this week.

The incident led to patrols at the historic landmark this weekend.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We had a report of a window being smashed in the main tower/gatehouse of the site on Thursday (September 1).

“It is still being investigated and anyone with information should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43220393193.”

Thames Valley Police has been patrolling a historic Newbury landmark after receiving reports of criminal damage to it.
