POLICE foiled an attempted caravan theft in the Lambourn area.

Thames Valley Police's rural crime taskforce reported attending the scene of the ongoing crime on Tuesday night, March 7.

The team said officers, one of whom is pictured, located a suspect vehicle towing the stolen caravan towards Salisbury in Wiltshire.

They later posted: "Prior to police tactics being utilised, the vehicle made off from officers across fields, the suspect scaling a barbed wire fence to escape.
