The theft of three sheep took place at a farm on Brigsteer Road on 9 March.
The offence took place at some time between 2.30pm and 4pm.
A suspicious vehicle was seen in the area prior to the theft.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information - but also warning other farmers to be on their guard.
