A tree surgeon from Penhallow who cut down trees without the appropriate licence has been fined.
Thomas Gerald Pugh, 47, of Penhallow, near St Agnes, appeared in front of magistrates at Truro Magistrates' Court on Friday, March 4, having originally been adjourned from December 2, 2021.
In July of last year, Pugh pleaded not guilty to the offence of felling a growing tree without a section 9(1) felling licence, which took place between August 13 and 16 2019 at a woodland in Tregarthen.
However, upon appearing in court last week, he was found guilty of felling growing timber without the authority of a licence issued by the appropriate forestry authority.
Pugh was fined £604 for the offence and was made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £60.
