Two barns caught fire on a farm near Ringwood on Thursday (July 28) afternoon.

The barns at a farm on Dragon Lane in Bisterne were storing around 25 tonnes of straw, which fuelled the fire, but fortunately, no persons or animals were involved.

A combined fire service response was required, with crews from Ringwood and Fordingbridge called at 3.07pm who were then joined by firefighters from Christchurch, Redhill, Wimborne and water carriers from Ringwood and Wilton.

The barns were well alight and more than more than 35 firefighters were on the scene, working with the farmer to control the burn.
