Warning to South Lakes residents after spate of overnight burglaries

Cumbria Police has issued safety advice after a series of burglaries in the South Lakes.

In the Allithwaite and Flookburgh areas, a number of burglaries were reported over the weekend. It is believed these took place over night.


Suspects are said to be targeting addresses while residents are away from the house. The suspects will usually force entry to rear doors and windows before entering the houses and stealing jewellery and cash, police said.
