Rural crime officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following the reported theft of plant machinery and power tools near Wareham.

A man then ran off from the police in a tractor and smashed into three police cars causing significant damage to the vehicles but no injury to the officers. The man was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

Nottinghamshire Roads Policing Unit teamed up with Lincolnshire Police Rural Crime Action Team and Newark and Sherwood Operation Reacher officers yesterday (Monday) for the cross border work.
